Off-Grid means:Maintain mental performanceUse technology consciouslyRegaining attention and scope for actionBringing people along through change

Digital Brain Health starts with people.

Off-Grid Coaching Europe® understands this as the ability to maintain and strengthen mental performance, self-determination, and human connection in a digital world.

Technology matters. It can inspire us and be enjoyable. It is a tool, not a place to live our entire lives. AI can support us, while independent thinking, responsibility and human connection remain essential.

As AI takes over more and more tasks, personal questions also arise: What can I contribute? Where do I draw my self-worth from? What gives my life meaning? We take these questions seriously and strengthen orientation, judgement, and opportunities for action.

We create space to learn: to explore options, make mistakes and try again. Building confidence in our ability to act, practising perseverance and learning to handle frustration are all part of the process. So is staying open to perspectives beyond our own social media bubble.

Portrait of Petra Pinder
The founder

Petra Pinder

I combine experience in business, development and digital transformation with psychological expertise. I am interested in what enables people to clearly evaluate new technologies and actively shape their everyday lives.

My work draws on more than 25 years of experience in international business, including leadership experience in the automotive industry. As an industrial engineer, a nonmedical practitioner licensed to practise psychotherapy in Germany (Heilpraktikerin für Psychotherapie), and the founder of Off-Grid Coaching Europe® (OGCE), I bring together technical, business and human perspectives.

I'm all about connection: to oneself, to others and to nature. Curiosity and a sense of humour are welcome to come along for the ride.

Space for mind and body

When were your thoughts last free?

Messages, meetings, new tools, the next prompt: a digital working day can feel like a relentless barrage. There is a constant need to distinguish the important from the unimportant. When every spare minute is filled with new information, little time remains to process what has been experienced and to tune into one's own needs.

Make room for creative boredom

Looking at the sky. Going for a walk without a podcast. Letting one's thoughts wander. I call this creative boredom. Such times without new tasks can open up space for different connections and ideas. An experimental study shows: A simple activity with the opportunity to daydream improved the subsequent handling of already familiar creativity tasks. It does not follow automatically that boredom always makes one creative. Study on the creative pause for thought

AI is changing work. Learning needs space.

AI is changing tasks, processes and collaboration. Professional experience remains valuable while new skills are added: assessing results, checking sources, clarifying responsibility and continuing to learn together. Learning was also part of working life in the past. Today, short change cycles and new tools can create additional pressure to adapt. OECD: Skills in the Age of AI

For companies and teams, this means: scheduling time for learning, clarifying priorities, reducing interruptions and trying out new things within a reliable framework. People need the opportunity to ask questions and discuss mistakes. In coaching, we develop appropriate agreements for focus, collaboration and recovery.

Tension and recovery go together

The body also needs the opportunity to come to rest. Mindfulness means consciously perceiving the present moment, as much as possible without judgment: one's own body, thoughts, feelings, and the environment. MBSR stands for Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and combines mindfulness practice with coping with everyday stressors. Studies show potential benefits; effectiveness and suitability vary individually. Research overview of mindfulness and MBSR

In coaching, we practise recognising strain earlier, taking our eyes off the screen, observing our breathing without pressure to achieve anything, and noticing the world outdoors with all our senses. The aim is to reconnect with ourselves and our surroundings and make room for rest in everyday life.

What can heart rate variability show?

Heart rate variability, or HRV for short, describes differences in the time intervals between heartbeats. It can provide supplementary indications of autonomic regulation. A single reading does not prove chronic stress. Breathing, movement, measurement conditions and other physical influences must be taken into account. What is meaningful is a careful classification of comparable measurements together with personal well-being. The measurement does not replace medical diagnostics. Coaching accompanies personal and professional development, prevention and learning. Mental illnesses are treated within an appropriate therapeutic or medical framework. My psychotherapy practice is an independent service.
